Christopher Nolan continues to expand the cast of his highly anticipated The Odyssey, with the addition of Cosmo Jarvis, a British actor known for his recent performance in the Shogun series. Filming of the film, which will bring the epic adventure of Ulysses narrated by Homer to the big screen, is currently underway in Morocco, with further takes planned in Sicily. After the success of Oppenheimer, Nolan is preparing for a new ambitious cinematic challenge, aiming for a stellar cast to bring to life one of the most iconic stories of Greek mythology.

The Odyssey: a stellar cast

The anticipation for The Odyssey grows day by day, also thanks to the involvement of big names in Hollywood. The film currently stars Matt Damon as Ulysses, alongside actors such as Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Mia Goth, Himesh Patel, Elliott Page, Bill Irwin, Samantha Morton, Jesse Garcia, Will Yun Lee and Corey Hawkins. The addition of Cosmo Jarvis is another piece in this epic project.

The actor, who won over audiences with his portrayal of John Blackthorne in Shogun, is increasingly launched in the international film scene. Although his role in The Odyssey has not yet been revealed, his presence adds further curiosity around the film. The Odyssey is currently filming in full swing in Morocco, and will later move to Sicily, the perfect location to recreate the ancient Mediterranean and Ulysses’ epic journey.

Christopher Nolan, known for his use of practical effects and shooting on real locations, seems to want to maintain his signature style in this film as well. The Odyssey is scheduled for release on July 17, 2026, with an IMAX release that promises to be an immersive and spectacular cinematic experience. With a top-notch cast and a director with a unique vision, this new adaptation of Homer's famous work promises to be one of the most anticipated events of the coming years.
