The creator of The Boys confirmed, this Tuesday (11), that the fifth season of the series will be the last. Eric Kripke published a portion of the script for the final episode of the fourth year and announced the news on social media. "It was always my plan. I just had to be evasive until I got the OK from Vought. I'm excited to take this story to its most epic and gore climax. Season 4 premieres in 2 days because the end has begun," Kripke wrote about the Prime Video series.

In its fourth season, The Boys will focus on the trial of Captain Homeland (Antony Starr), accused of killing a civilian in broad daylight at the end of the third season. Vought will even have a hashtag for those who want to see him exonerated: #PátriaLivre. At the same time, Billy Bruto (Karl Urban) will have discovered the virus that kills supes revealed in Gen V. What he will do with it, we still don't know. The events of the fourth season of The Boys will then lead into the second season of Gen V. Regarding the connection between the series, Amazon says that you don't need to see one to understand the other, but that you should.

The fourth season of The Boys also has the presence of Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Supernatural, The Walking Dead) in the cast and will increase the role of Cameron Crovetti as Ryan, son of Homeland Captain to a regular role, meaning a greater presence in the episodes. Valorie Curry and Susan Hayward are the new additions to the cast. Curry will play Firecracker and Heyward will play Sister Sage. Both characters do not exist in the comics that gave rise to the series. The new season also added Rosemarie DeWitt as Hughie's (Jack Quaid) mother.

The Boys is an Amazon Prime Video original series created by Eric Kripke. The third year of the series saw the addition of Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) as Soldier Boy to the cast made up of names such as Antony Starr, Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Kapon, Karen Fukuhara, Dominique McElligott, Chace Crawford, Jessie T . Usher, and Erin Moriarity. The series seeks to subvert superhero clichés by presenting a capitalist industry behind super-powerful figures, who are willing to commit atrocities to continue with fame and money. A team of civilians who have already suffered at their hands decides to band together to overthrow the Supes' empire.

The fourth season of The Boys premieres on June 13th on Prime Video.
