"Sausage Party: Foodtopia" trailer released ─ The dirty joke anime is back

The trailer for "Sausage Party: Foodtopia", the animated series version of the 2016 R-rated CG animated film "Sausage Party", which depicts the world of food with black humor and dirty jokes, has been released. I'm getting excited.

The movie "Sausage Party" is a story about sausages displayed in a supermarket who learn of their fate when they are purchased as a product, and "go" on an adventure with their friends to escape that tragedy. In this animated series version, we follow the sausages as they discover their fate and try to build a utopian society. At the beginning of the video, Frank the Sausage and Brenda the Hot Dog Bun are the commanders and seem to be starting a rebellion against humans. Frank and his friends, who seem to have conquered humans, establish "Foodtopia", a utopian world for food, as they wished.

Gum, the most intelligent character in the movie, reappears saying, "Food is now the dominant species on Earth." Frank is happy, saying, "As long as we have this little genius with us, we're safe!" They enjoy their utopian life of only food, but soon ominous rain clouds approach. They are quickly melted by the raindrops, and Gum, their lifeline, is swept away by the flood and dies. With Gum gone, poor Frank and his friends have no hope of survival. The town that was supposed to be a utopia quickly becomes a dystopia. "Do you think this is paradise, Frank? Look, blind melons and smashed pumpkins. Do you want this revolution?" Both blind melons and Smashed Pumpkins are the names of real rock bands.

To restore Foodtopia, they turn to the "humans" they once defeated, a very dependent approach. Sausage Barry applies snail fluids to his head and uses it as a lotion to penetrate the human's asshole. He succeeds in controlling the human from the inside. (Why?) Will they be able to revive Foodtopia and get back to their dream life? In addition to Seth Rogen as Frank, the voice actors of the movie version, such as Kristen Wiig as Brenda, Michael Cera as Barry, David Krumholtz as Kareem, and Edward Norton as Sammy, will be returning. New cast members include Will Forte from "Popstar" (2016), Sam Richardson from "Hocus Pocus 2" (2022), and Natasha Rothwell from "Wonder Woman 1984" (2020).

Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffer, who served as executive producers and co-writers for the film version, will serve as showrunners, and Conrad Vernon will direct. The duo of Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who wrote the original story and screenplay for the film version, will serve as executive producers. The animated series "Sausage Party: Foodtopia" will begin streaming in the US on Amazon Prime Video on July 11, 2024.
