Now that the cast announcements for the new Knives Out have calmed down and recorded for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the third film in the Knives Out saga, has officially begun, the first set images reveal a little of what we can see in history. The photos show Josh O'Connor as a priest and Glenn Close's appearance in the plot. Last week, director Rian Johnson released the first image of Daniel Craig returning to the role of detective Benoit Blanc, this time with an older look, which suggests the passage of time, and long hair.

As with the previous two, there is a great cast for the film: Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man 3), Josh Brolin (Avengers: Infinity War), Daryl McCormack (Good Luck, Big Leo), Mila Kunis (Colored Friendship), Jeremy Renner (Avengers), Andrew Scott (Fleabag), Glenn Close (101 Dalmatians), Cailee Spaeny (Civil War) and Josh O'Connor (Rivals) and Kerry Washington (Little Fires Everywhere) are in detective Benoit Blanc's new adventure (Daniel Craig).

The film will be released in 2025 with the return of Craig and director Rian Johnson.

The franchise began in 2019 with the release of Knives Out. In the film, Benoit Blanc needs to investigate the death of famous crime story writer Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer), who is found dead inside his property after celebrating his 85th birthday. The original cast included Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, Lakeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford, and Jaeden Martell. Three years later, in 2022, the second film in the franchise was released, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. The film brought the detective back, but now with a completely different cast and story.

As guests, we have Duke Cody (Dave Bautista), a famous YouTuber, and his girlfriend/younger assistant Whiskey (Madelyn Cline), Claire DeBella (Kathryn Hahn), governor of Colorado who is running for senate, Cassandra "Andi " Brand (Janealle Monáe), a technology innovator, Birdie Jay (Kate Hudson), a fashion designer and her assistant Peg (Jessica Henwick), and Lionel Toussaint (Leslie Odom Jr.), a scientist who works for Miles. Ethan Hawke and Jada Pinkett Smith also starred. Glass Onion, like the third film in the saga, is produced under a deal between director Rian Johnson and star Daniel Craig with Netflix worth US$469 million.
