Anthony Mackie, who plays the character, spoke about the difficulties of moving between movies and TV with the same character ahead of the film "Captain America: Brave New World." After receiving Steve Rogers' shield in "Avengers: Endgame" (2019), Sam began his journey as the new Captain America in "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier." His journey to complete his mission continues in the upcoming "Brave New World." In a conversation with Tyler James Williams of "Abbott Elementary" (2021-) in Variety, Mackie answered the question, "Film and television require completely different approaches. What was the challenge in moving Falcon, a character developed in the film, to television?"

"In 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,' there was a lot of time to fill to bring Falcon into the series. It's not a two-and-a-half-hour movie, it's eight hours of storytime. That was scary and bothered me, and I felt like it took away the effectiveness of the movie. Movies move forward all at once and then end, but TV has a lot of story, explanations, and characters, so it's a lot of work to make it something that makes people want to watch eight episodes and watch it over and over again."

However, Mackie said, "Fortunately, it was a transition under good leadership." "They (Marvel) used that show to make (Sam) Captain America, so it wasn't just a one-off, but something to aim for beyond that. So in that sense, it was easier to do, but in most ways, it was a difficult job. 'How do we increase the value of eight hours? " By the way, Mackie's first attempt at a drama series was "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." "Those were the toughest seven days of my career. Television is different. You can do movies, but television requires stamina. It takes six to eight months, and it's tough," he said, emphasizing how tough it was.

At this point, details of "Brave New World" have not been revealed, but Mackie previously revealed that the story of the drama series "will be made into a movie" instead of "Falcon & Winter Soldier" season 2. Let's look forward to Sam Wilson's new storytelling and his evolution as a character, as he returns to the movies from the drama series. The movie "Captain America: Brave New World" (working title) is scheduled to be released in the US on February 14, 2025.
