Distributed on over 4 thousand North American screens, the second part of the blockbuster Dune grossed an estimated $81.5 million, exceeding the estimates offered by analysts only on Friday. To date, Dune Part Two represents the highest debut weekend of the entire 2024, but also the highest in director Denis Villeneuve's career.

The excellent result is due to important word of mouth underlined by the excellent score at the CinemaScore "A", and a 5 out of 5 at the ComScore PostTrak. The comparison with the first part "Dune Part One" is absolutely positive, in this regard the debut takings in 2021 were 41.01 million dollars, with a national total of 109.9 million. Naturally, the collection of "Part One" had to face difficulties due to the pandemic emergency, with theaters still closed and restrictions on the number of tickets available for each individual theater, therefore it is difficult to make appropriate comparisons.

Internationally, Villeneuve's film grossed approximately $97 million, for a Worldwide total of $178.5 million (estimates exclude China and Japan). Among the markets that most drove the excellent performance of Dune Part Two, we note the United Kingdom (11.8 million) and France (9.6 million). Beyond the adventures of Paul Atreides, the US Box Office over the weekend once again rewarded Bob Marley: One Love with a new gross of 7.43 million dollars, the total of which has now reached 82.77 million. Third place at the box office was picked up by Ordinary Angels, with $3.85 million (total $12.56 million).
