Iman Vellani, one of Marvel's most acclaimed stars, confirms her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For many fans on the Internet, Marvel Studios' choice to have Iman Vellani in the role of Ms. Marvel was a success from the start. The Ms. Marvel actress told Polygon that she has been guaranteed that she will stay. Ahead of her appearance at this year's Anime Awards, Vellani explained how Marvel brass gave her these details about her career future. However, they did not say where or when. So, the future production of the MCU is at a standstill. There was, however, a preview for the long-awaited project known as Young Avengers. But will she appear in Secret Wars? Here are the hypotheses!
Iman Vellani on her future in Marvel: from The Marvels to Secret Wars
The troubled Secret Wars project also looms large in the coming years. But Iman Vellani has no idea if she will return before her with a season 2 of the show dedicated to her, Mrs. Marvel, or will appear in a larger production, i.e. one of the next big Marvel crossovers. “I was assured. So that makes me feel good, but there was no more guarantee than that,” Vellani laughed. “They give me crumbs and I try to make a meal out of them.” So, in more ways than one, Vellani is just like the rest of us: She really knows little more than her fans do.
Are the Young Avengers Assembling? After that massive tease featured in The Marvels, fans are hoping to see these young Avengers begin to unite. ScreenRant asked Vellani about the team she was recruiting. The actress also wants to see the Young Avengers together as much as the fandom. That's her great hope for the future of her character. “I just want to see them interact. I think they left so many younger character stories open, and to see fans start pairing them up, it would be something like, I want to see Kamala interact with America,” Vellani told them. “I want to see Kamala interact with Patriot, I don't know. Just all these random people. And so yeah, I think there's so many different paths you could take with this.”
The Marvels is now streaming on Disney+. In the film, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) reclaimed her identity from the Kree and took revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences leave Carol having to bear the weight of a destabilized universe. When she ends up in an anomalous wormhole connected to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become intertwined with those of Jersey City superfan Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), aka Ms. Marvel, and her niece-in-law, Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris).
Together, this unlikely trio must unite and learn to work in harmony to save the universe as The Marvels. The Marvels will also see the return to the series of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Saagar Shaikh as Aamir Khan, Zenobia Shroff as Muneeba Khan, and Mohan Kapur as Yusuf Khan. New cast members include Zawe Ashton, Park Seo-Joon, and Shamier Anderson. Produced by Marvel Studios, The Marvels is directed by Nia DaCosta with a screenplay by DaCosta, Megan McDonnell, and Elissa Karasik.
