Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos are ready for a new film together. Immediately after Emma Stone's victory as Best Actress at the Bafta Awards, the most important awards in the United Kingdom, awarded by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, the director and her muse revealed their next joint project to Variety. After Poor Things! Lanthimos will in fact make a remake of a Korean cult movie: a delirious sci-fi comedy entitled Save the Green Planet, directed in 2003 by Jang Joon-hwan. Emma Stone then confirmed her presence in a supporting role, thus confirming her sixth collaboration with the Greek filmmaker.

Filming on the Save the Green Planet remake is expected to begin in the summer. Not before the director and Emma Stone presented their next film: Kind of Kindness. After Poor Things! Lanthimos has already completed a new anthology film, which we will probably see in competition at the next Cannes Film Festival. In the cast, in addition to Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, and Margaret Qualley are credited. The thickest layer of mystery still hovers over the plot. While, as regards Save the Green Planet, we know it is a black comedy of the science fiction genre.

The original plot focuses on a poor devil, convinced that he is saving the world from an imminent alien invasion. Convinced that the CEO of a powerful multinational is carrying out experiments on his mother on behalf of aliens, he decides to kidnap and torture the manager, while a strange detective will do everything to save him. Narrative material that is already grotesque in itself, which in the hands of Yorgos Lanthimos could become truly incandescent. Meanwhile, the director and Emma Stone prepare for Oscar night. Poor Things! She received 11 nominations, including naturally that for Best Leading Actress.

Will our Bella Baxter be able to beat the other great favorite of this edition, that is Lily Gladstone, the protagonist of Killers of the Flower Moon by Martin Scorsese? We'll find out next March 10th.
